Art Meets Poetry 2025

Art Meets Poetry is an annual collaboration between the Mockingbird Poetry Society and the Art Club of McKinney. Every year, artists and poets are invited to submit original works. They are also invited to select a submitted piece of work to create an inspired, interpretive or ekphrastic piece of the opposite medium. The end result is an exquisite collection of pairs of art and poetry: one inspired by the other.

This was my first time participating in an event like this. I submitted one piece of art: a photograph called Convergence, that was chosen by poet Doris Brogan to write poetry for. And I selected an art piece, Atlas Alone by artist Ceri Powers to create inspired poetry from. Check them out here!
